Free Point of View Fun! Baseball Edition Freebie
These graphic organizers feature 10 baseball themed examples of first person point of view, third person limited point of view, and third person omniscient point of view. The 10 examples are divided into five graphic organizers that represent the story of a championship baseball game with an unlikely hero.
This set features engaging and challenging sentences that move students from the identification of each example to careful analysis. These graphic organizers will help prepare your students for the increasing rigor of standardized tests. I have successfully used these same strategies to help students grasp point of view.
Not only do students have to identify the type of point of view each example represents, but they must also rewrite the examples to fit the remaining two points of view. This is a highly rigorous activity that will help your students think more critically about the pronouns they must use and the characteristics that make each point of view distinct.
The 10 examples also feature high level vocabulary that can be used in a separate context clues lesson.
Answer keys are included for each graphic organizer.
