Get your students engaged in a Tic Tac Toe Partner Activity that can be used to further practice their knowledge of the Quadratic Formula. The Tic Tac Toe board is a 4 by 4 square that will require 4 answers in a row to win. There are 16 questions that produce both rational and irrational answers. All answers are real. No imaginary solutions. All answers are given in simplified radical form, no decimals. Playing Tic Tac Toe to practice a new skill is a great way to assess they are doing it correctly, as they can check their answers after each problem. They will be working with a partner so it encourages collaboration. My students love when they see activities on the agenda for day...it's a great way to break up the monotony of lecture and allows for the students to take control of their own learning.
