Updated in 2020 to include a Digital Google Slides version AND the pdf!

This 3 page biography traces the life of this inspiring man from childhood through his leadership of the Civil Rights Movement and to his eventual assassination. You get the same article at three different levels, allowing for flexibility and easy differentiation. There are also vocabulary and comprehension activities, including an Integrating Information activity that asks students to analyze a video clip of his I Have a Dream speech and its impact on the world.

Here's what you get:

1. A three page biography at three different levels (1000 - 1100 Lexile, 900 - 1000 Lexile, and 800 - 900 Lexile.) The levels are appropriate for most 4th, 5th and 6th graders.

2. Two Vocabulary activities (Word Wonder, Context and Connections).

3. One Language Activity (Preposition Proficiency).

3. Three comprehension activities (What's the Gist?, Text Dependent Questions and Integrating Information).

4. All the activities come with an Answer Key and/or Rubric to make grading simple!

5. Everything is included in the Google Slides version as well as the pdf version.

There are suggested schedules and ideas for how to use each activity.

Just print and teach OR assign digitally! No prep!

This resource works great for substitutes!
