Teach strategies for close reading using sign posts that students can notice on their own as they read. Create an intellectual community where students are encouraged to eb risk takers, to be curious, to eb will to try and fail, and be more interested in asking questions rather than providing answers.
This worksheet helps to understand why the character acts in a way that contradicts who he or she acted before or that contrasts with how we would act or that reveals a difference among characters.
