I created this minilesson to go along with the Punctuation Power writing badge, which helps “gamify” and motivate students to write more. The Punctuation Power Badge encourages students to remember to use periods, question marks, and exclamation points. You could also use this product without the badges to teach about ending punctuation. This lesson follows a gradual release approach.
Although ending punctuation is in the CCSS for Kindergarten and 1st grade, this lesson could also be used with 2nd-5th grade students who often forget to use ending punctuation.
This product includes projectable pages for the minilesson, a sorting activity to complete with a partner, and a page to introduce independent practice.
