All Aboard: Train Sums and Differences Game
Addition and Subtraction Freebie
This game is an oldie but goodie. I played this game with my kiddos many moons ago and they loved it! I played it today with a kindergarten one on one and he LOVED it!
So, I decided to share it with all of you because it is a great game to practice addition and subtraction facts! (The little guy I played it with was AMAZING! He even got into negative numbers on his own and tested my knowledge of what I remembered about negative numbers) I made it a challenge in that I said we had to end the train with the sum or difference of 0. Picking different random numbers to end the train is a way to make the game more fun and add a challenge!!
So…here is how you play: the first person writes an addition or subtraction fact in the
first car and the answer to the fact in the next car. The next player using that number to make another addition or subtraction fact. It might look something like this; 2+2 =
4-1 = 3+7 10-2 = ( see the sample on actual pages.) I have differentiated in that 2 of the sheets have starters and one does not. So… the sky is the limit.
I hope you enjoy this freebie! I hope this brings a little sunshine your way!!
