Scavenger hunts are a great way for children to explore the world around them. This unit provides you with 5 fun scavenger sheets. Take the children outside and make the boundaries clear, and talk about how to respect the environment when looking for items. Place the scavenger hunt sheets on clip boards or books and provide a pencil for each child. Have the children fill-in the blanks with the names of the items they find. After a scavenger hunt is complete make large posters and collect data of all the things they found.
For younger children I read a word from the list and together we look for an item that best fits that description. I fill-in the blanks for them.
