As I was working on a project for our county science curriculum map in kindergarten, I realized I needed "go to" cards of animals to use in sorting activities. These cards and graphic organizers are just a general resource to give students the beginning foundations on how we categorize animals. These pictures sets of animals can be copied onto cardstock. Then you can laminate and cut them apart to use when you need a sorting activity.
In kindergarten, students at this point need to be made aware that animals can look, and move differently and that they also can live in different places. The cards are categorized as mammals on land, amphibians and reptiles, birds, and water animals. Then I created T charts and Venn diagrams for sorting activities. I also, made cards with the name of the animals.
I hope you can use this freebie! Enjoy!
