The following activities are included:
==> Mythological Character Pennant: Describe the character traits of a mythological character and summarize a story about the character. In the novel study, The Lightning Thief **Companion to Louisiana Guidebook 2.0** students research a mythological character to build understanding of how mythology is still influencing literature and language in modern times. Students will summarize one myth about the character. This activity is an extension of the research activity.
==> Create your own Mythological Character. After learning about mythological characters in the novel, students can create their own mythological character and design a poster about the original character. Students will share important details about their characters.
==> Text Messages – Create a text conversation between two characters from the novel that might have happened during the novel. This activity allows students to demonstrate a deeper understanding of characters and events that happened in the novel. Students can do it independently or a group of students could create an ongoing text message conversation with multiple copies of this activity.
