This is a 19 page PDF presentation about students with developmental issues, learning challenges, and physical disabilities.
This presentation challenges educators to see the whole child, not just their diagnosis and the items listed in an IEP document. This information is perfect for professional development, pre-service teacher training, and non-teaching individuals who encounter students day to day.
8 individuals’ pictures and information are used; I have written permission from all parents. Additionally, the first and last individuals are my son and I. Each individual is presented with a photo, name, and the diagnoses that school personnel would see in an IEP. Next, personal information is added - hobbies, strengths, likes, etc. The goal is to convey that students are complex, multi-faceted individuals, and to encourage staff to get to know who they REALLY are.
