Y’ALL, here are some good ol’ PLAY DOH Task Cards!!!
What is not fun about Play Doh!! This activity set has fun Math Part Part Whole Center TASK CARD/MAT Games. Students will enjoy learning how to add and “decompose” numbers. These cards provide a fun opportunity for an alternative way to practice algebraic thinking.
This product includes 63 part-part-whole cards. Students use the two different colored circles on the cards to figure out the “missing part” and the addition sentence. You can print two to a page and use them as flash cards instead of the traditional boring flash cards where students simply provide the sum. Facts range from those with the sum of 5 - to those with the sum of 10. It included a set of 9 “count and trace cards” with recording sheet and answer key for differentiated instruction and practice. These come in sum of 2 - 9.
This file also includes two different worksheets for extra practice and a blank worksheet so the teacher can create her own worksheet. There is a blank worksheet for students to create their own Part Part Whole sentence. The worksheets will give you the opportunity to differentiate your instruction. It includes a Instruction sheets for both mat games. Students can match part/addends and whole /sum to complete sentence.
Teacher can use this product in a whole group or small group teaching. These mats can be used to model the skill. Teacher can use it for intervention and as an assessment. Both sets come with instruction for students. The blank worksheets provided can be used as an assessment or homework.
Print and laminate Task Cards for longer use. Students can use Play-Doh or just dry markers to write down the missing part, whole and sentence. Use it as a fun center game.
