This is a 65 open ended question movie guide for the documentary film, Freedom Riders that PBS produced. This documentary is one of the best I have seen. It captures the racism in the Deep South so well and was told in such a telling way. This can be shown during Black History Month or when teaching Jim Crow Laws, the Deep South, and the Civil Rights Movement. There is also a 10 question quiz, again open ended, for students to answer after the movie. This is a terrific movie. I showed it to my students recently and they really enjoyed it and learned a lot and it created great discussion afterwards. The movie is 2 hours, but I paused it along the way for students to answer questions and to discuss or explain what was happening.
I also have a Freedom Riders Webquest
