This is a complete set of questions (113) to provoke and test students' learning when studying the 2007 film starring Hilary Swank.
I have divided the film into five parts/episodes, and I usually show a part of the movie and then follow up with the associated questions. I find it useful to show the film with the subtitles on.
Some of the questions are basic fact-finding. Others require students to understand why characters act in a particular way, or say specific things. Many seek opinions from students on action or character, and encourage them to justify those opinions. In total there are 113 questions, with some having multiple parts.
Depending on the student body (weak, strong, EAL etc...), I use as work to be written in class or at home, or to kick off in-class discussion.
This is quite a challenging activity. If students can answer these questions, they will have an excellent understanding of the background and setting, characters, and themes - backed up with comprehensive details of the plot.
It's a four page handout for students. The answer key is included, another 5 pages. It's a Word document, so can be edited to suit your class.
The preview file contains the first few questions for Part 1 of the film. Even if you don't purchase this product, this will give you a useful task with which to start your study of Freedom Writers.
