If you want your students to find out how much it costs to travel from Boston to Paris, FRENCHYMMS has created a great webquest for you! Using the travelocity.com website, your students will find the cheapest and most expensive flights for the day they choose to fly. Later, they can extend their trip and see how the prices differ on different days of the week.
In this webquest, students also discover which airlines have the best rates, whether non-stop or direct is the best option, how long the trip will take and how much they will need to spend.
For further fun, students can try out a hotel/flight package offered by travelocity. com I did not do this, but you could also let them take the car rental option. Using google.com to find the hotel they select, students can check out the hotel, the location and the atmosphere to decide if this is a hotel they would enjoy.
Finally, there is a short math problem at the end, asking students how long they would have to work in order to pay for the trip they have selected.
I use this with my 8th grade students when we do a travel unit in French. This entire webquest is in English because they are at the French 1 level.
