This unit presents common profession vocabulary and offers a great opportunity to explain how French is lagging in profession vocabulary that is gender specific.
The verb être is also reviewed as are adjectives that can be associated with various professions. I would suggest teaching this unit after teaching the one on family and adjectives where adjective agreement is more fully explained and practiced.
There are some practices that have students identify professions based on descriptions and to come up with adjectives to describe professions (firefighters are brave).
