This unit includes THREE school weeks of 55-minute day-by-day lesson plans!!
This unit review house and home vocabulary and presents obligation vocabulary as they pertain to the rooms of the house (sweep, vacuum, make the bed, etc). There is also a composition for students to write. I teach this unit after the leisure one and give this composition as a way to gauge student writing improvement. This composition has much less scaffolding and the same expectations as the leisure one.
Student notes and guided notes on house and home vocabulary and obligation vocabulary.
A practice on "avoir besoin de" (To need to/have to)
Sentence writing practice using avoir besoin and obligation vocabulary
A relay game that is played in groups of 4 and each teammate has a particular part of a sentence to write. Instructions are included in "how to use these materials"
A quiz on obligation and house vocabulary.
Pictures I use daily for student speaking
My anticipatory set slides for each day of the unit
A composition where students talk about their obligation and leisure activities with instructions, organizer, and rubric.
