This unit contains day-by-day lesson plans!!
This unit reviews the key components covered in French I. After classroom rules are set, I delve into this unit to jog my students' memory before starting new material. Alternatively, give this test to French I students to help them review for their final.
Student notes and guided notes on the following topics
-ER conjugation in present tense
-IR conjugation in present tense
-RE conjugation in present tense
Conjugation of common irregular verbs like faire, être, avoir, etc
Places around town and items one can buy while out
Partitive articles- some, a few, etc
Various practice sheets to reinforce the above concepts
The pictures I use daily for student speaking
My anticipatory set slides for each day of the unit
A review test with listening script
An activity (Mangebeaucoup) where students conjugate verbs and then read the story. After, they prove their comprehension choosing one of 4 suggested activities. Comes with instructions and rubric.
The "Cut sentence" activity is for after reading and before the comprehension activity. Various lines of the story are on the slides. The teacher puts each full-screen printed slide in a manila folder and scatters them randomly about the room. Students work in groups of three- runner, writer, organizer. The runner (naturally) runs to a folder and has to memorize the text (no copying or phones), run back and report it to the writer. The writer writes the sentence on a slip of paper. The organizer takes the slips and puts the sentences in the correct order following the story. The process continues until a group has all the strips complete and then the group writes the sentences in order on loose leaf. I will allow one final paper per group with different hand-writing styles to cut back on the mounds of papers to grade afterward =)
