French AP Thematic Unit: “How do life events influence children?"

Families and Communities / Personal and Public Identity: “How do major life events influence the lives of children, adolescents, and families around the world?”

This bundle contains a French AP thematic unit centered around comparing and contrasting major events in the lives of francophone children/teenagers/families with our own.

1. Discuss important childhood events and rites of passage such as catholic baptism, Malian Tchoudi, divorce, leaving home, etc. Literature excerpts, songs, and videos are the main teaching vehicles.

2. Compare and contrast different family structures such as the homoparental family and the African family.
