*Corresponds to Bien Dit Level 2 Chapter 8.*
Trust me. If their French teacher gets up and raps the vocab list one day, the kids will lose their freaking minds. It's great.
1. I am not a professional rapper, but I have skillz. (Yes, that's skillz with a "z." Look it up.) The recording quality is not the best.
2. I used an open source rap beat loop to create the MP3, but I am the one rapping and the lyrics are 100% original.
3. Melanie Taylor ("Madame T.") was my inspiration. I love her raps, and I use them with my classes all the time, but she also got me in the mood to write my own a few years ago. This one's my favorite of the ones I did.
Zip file includes:
-MP3 with "Rappons le corps" performed
-Reproducible lyrics sheet
-And heck...why not?...a matching quiz based on the rap, since I had it anyway.
Preview file is the last bit of the MP3. Here are some of the lyrics for that section:
Did we cover le vocabulaire? I don’t think so
So let’s work our way through it to en bas from en haut.
Quand je parle, look at mon visage or ma figure.
(They’re both the same thing, just in case you weren’t sure.)
Le front, les sourcils, les cils, les yeux, le nez,
Les joues, les lèvres, les dents, les oreilles.
Between la tête and les épaules, that’s the thing we call le cou.
If there’s un chat dans ma gorge, then I can’t talk to you.
