This is a 2 page editable word document of a rubric for research on French-speaking Cities. The research conducted is based on the 5 senses. The students are encouraged to think about what experiences they would have when visiting a French speaking city in the world. The questions of 'What would I see, hear, taste, touch and smell' in a foreign city guide the students' research in the computer lab. (When I did the project, I compiled a list of acceptable websites using a customized google search so that the students were able to quickly find reputable information on the web.) The students found results in English, then used an online dictionary to translate their findings to French and finally they wrote a paragraph in French about where they wanted to go and what they wanted to experience. They then presented their Francophone City paragraphs to their classmates. This document was created by Cara Kuhl for use in 8th grade, Level 1 French classes.
