This class set of 30 conversation cards get students asking each other about favourite foods, movies, music, etc. These cards are a great way to start your class, to get your students speaking in the target language, and get them ready for your lesson.
I always set a timer for 2 minutes per conversation, and students were expected to start a conversation as they would in English, with a greeting, asking how the other student is, and then continuing with the cards. Each card features 2 questions, which range from food, to music, to sports, to weather, and many other everyday topics. This is how I have used the cards, but there are MANY other different ways to incorporate them into your classroom and schedule. I also used random questions from this collection to assess where my students language level was at once they were familiar with them.
For durability and longevity, I printed my cards on cardstock, cut, and laminated them. This enabled me to use them for more than one class, and for more than one year. I hope your students have as much fun as mine did.
