This is the final product of the series which applies the learning from "Écrire pour lire 1 and 2" to understanding the sounds that make up the 26 alphabet words. The product includes 26 alphabet Placemats and sound cards on 8 1/2 x 14 pages to be laminated for repetitive use at a Literacy Station. Words are colour coded by number of letters in the word. The same letters are then regrouped into the number of sounds in the word. The student learn to spell the words by sound. Students can either write the sounds in the boxes or use the sound cards to place the sounds. Great for kinesthetic learners. The SmartBoard file contains all of the 26 Placemats with movable sounds for interactive lessons or activities. Big Tip: Do not save the Notebook file after each use. This will place all movable sounds back in their original sound box for the next use. I chose not to clone the sounds, so as to not confuse the students with the remaining number of sounds. The process of elimination is a helpful strategy. The 8 alphabet words that contain the sound "on" are featured in a cut and paste activity for students to make their own "on" word bank booklet. This can be used during their writing activities throughout the year.
