Students practice speaking and listening in this interactive group activity. 17 different versions of the same picture groups represent the foods that the students "order" from their peers in the class. Students have to ask peers for their food order, then listen and find the picture group that represents what they hear. They write down their peer's name on the line next to the picture group. They then read the phrase written in bold at the top of their page, giving their "order" to their peer. They move around the classroom, speaking and listening until they have all the lines filled in with their peers' names.
For small classes, not all the lines will need to be filled in. You can stop the activity when students have spoken with everyone in the class.
For larger classes, the 17 different versions can be copied twice for a total of 34 (or however many students are in the class). Some or all of the lines will be filled in with 2 names.
