Practice the skills of speaking, listening, and reading while reinforcing number and food vocabulary with this partner info-gap activity.
In a pair of students, Student "A" asks Student "B" in French how much the chicken costs. The Student B finds the picture of the chicken, and reads the sentence in French back to Student A. Student A writes down the price in numeric form. When all of Student A's questions are finished, the roles are reversed, and Student B now asks all the questions.
This interpersonal activity is great for peer tutoring, especially if one student is stronger in vocabulary than the other. The students can work through the food and number vocabulary together to answer the questions.
As a teacher, you only have to watch out for the students "cheating" by looking at each other's papers. The whole purpose of the activity is to encourage confidence in speaking and listening. If the students are answering the questions silently, they are only practicing reading comprehension.
