Beginning French role-play oral activity for Greetings and Introductions topic vocabulary. Made for beginners / near beginners in Primary / Elementary and early Middle School (Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6) but may suit other grades, depending on experience. 24 printable conversation / skits cards (plus translations) included. Reviews basic French words and phrases such as 'hello' (Bonjour etc) and 'goodbye' (Au revoir etc), and questions such as 'Ca va?' (How are you?), 'Comment tu t'appelles?' (What's your name?), 'Quel âge as-tu?' (How old are you?), 'Où habites-tu?' (Where do you live?) and 'Tu es de quelle nationalité?' (What nationality are you?). These scripted French greetings dialogues are a good stepping stone to more independent role-playing activities.
Print and laminate as required. In pairs, students translate the conversations on their card into French, practicing speaking it together. The 6 English language pages are designed to be printed back-to-back with the 6 translation pages for student self-checking. If preferred, the translations could be printed as separate cards. The vocabulary card can be provided for support where required. An instruction page is also included.
