Product Description

NO PREP printable board game and vocabulary card for oral practice of basic French greetings (les salutations), farewells and introductions (Je me presente / Introducing myself). This review activity reinforces different ways of saying 'hello' and 'goodbye' (Bonjour, Salut, Au revoir, A bientot etc.) as well as asking and answering questions such as 'Ca va?' (How are you?), 'Comment tu t'appelles?' (What's your name?), 'Quel age as-tu?' (How old are you?), 'Ou habites-tu?' (Where do you live?) and 'Tu es de quelle nationalite?' (What's your nationality?). My basic French resources are made for students beginning French and near beginners in Grade 4, 5, 6 and 7 but they may suit others, depending on experience.

Three slightly different versions of this French speaking game are included, with minor changes to a small number of phrases of nationality and where you live. This is to better suit learners in US & Canada (Page 1 of the PDF), Australia and New Zealand (Page 2), and UK and Ireland (Page 3). All phrases used in the game feature on the vocabulary card so if you are not teaching in any of these countries, you will still be able to use the game. The vocabulary card can support younger, less experienced, or less able students.

Brief instructions for students are printed on the board, together with fuller instructions on Page 5 of the PDF file. In turn, pupils roll a dice and move the appropriate number of spaces. They have to say aloud in French the word, phrase or question they land on, otherwise they return to the space they came from.

You may wish to blow the board up to 11x17 (A3) for larger groups but it works well in Letter size (A4) too.
