C'est l'Halloween ! Do you want a fun and engaging way to teach French Halloween vocabulary into your core French or French immersion class? This WRITE THE ROOM activity includes color-coded cards with common French Halloween vocabulary and is perfect for beginning French students.

Includes a printable image-based vocabulary list and a French-English list for students plus student answer sheets with images.

This includes some of the same vocabulary as my French Halloween word wall and will help students reinforce vocabulary from my French Halloween worksheets and activities.

You'll get 32 Halloween-themed words with graphics inside colorful spider web borders. Cards are color-coded by masculine or feminine nouns with purple or orange borders. Includes the verb passer l'Halloween on a green card so students can begin identifying parts of speech.

To use this as a class activity in your French class:

Print off the vocabulary cards and put them up around your room. Pass out the student answer sheets and have them walk around the room, writing the correct French word with the corresponding image. Students can use this as a vocabulary list or for your sports unit or you can give them the included vocabulary list for their student folders.

This is a fun and engaging way to for students to begin working with new vocabulary. They get much-needed movement, plus they are seeing the words and then writing them as they create their own personal French vocabulary lists. The same images are included on the student answer page and the provided vocabulary list, so students who are absent or need more time can still complete the activity.

After completing the activity:

  • Keep them up as decoration or as a fun way to incorporate new French Halloween vocabulary into your core or immersion classroom!

  • You can use them at learning centers for visual support when students are working on any Halloween-themed unit.

  • They also work great on your bulletin board for added support during your entire Halloween unit.

Teachers love my write the room cards! Here's what they say about other sets:

“This is my first write the room activity and the students really liked it! They enjoyed moving around to find the vocab rather than getting a photocopied page. The pictures are clear and it was easy for them to match the words. Thank you!”"

"This worked very well as a review for my French 2 students, and to have them learn some new verbs. The cards are beautiful, and this is a very effective activity for visual learners.”

"This was a great way to get my beginner French students up and moving! Merci! “"
