Download my Hopscotch Game Board to create a game over any topic(s). I suggest you laminate them because you can use them with any class and any topic--you just make new cards for play.
To play this game, choose 8 different categories for your questions. I have made suggestions on my game card template (spelling, synonyms/antonyms/conjugated verbs) but you can make up your own, too. Then print the cards on different colored paper.
To play, put students in groups of 4-5. Each student starts with their game piece on space #1. One student rolls the dice and moves forward that number of spaces. Another student takes a card that matches the color of the space that the student landed on. For example, if I land on PINK, my partner picks up a PINK card. If PINK is for SPELLING, my partner will say the word on the card and I have to spell it. If I get it right, I stay on that space and I keep the card. Students continue rolling and advancing. When you get to space #8, you just continue back at #1. The first person who earns one of each color card, wins the game.
This game takes at least 30 minutes to play.
