Teach students how to introduce themselves in French and give basic information about themselves such as their email address and phone number. Stay in the target language over 90% of the time and keep the fun times going the second week of class with the activities and games in this lesson that will allow even students with zero French knowledge to function in the target language in your classroom within the first few days of school.
This lesson is designed for the secondary classroom (6-12+) and teaches introductions and reenters vocabulary from the previous three lessons in the unit, but could be easily adapted for the primary classroom.
The lesson includes the following:
-6 pages of detailed teacher procedures
-Input activities with student handouts (reading/listening)
-Output activities (speaking/writing)
-instructions for playing the Imposter game (L'Imposteur)
-instructions for playing the name game
-Class directory activity
Your students will amaze themselves with what they will be able to do by the end of this lesson! This is a great way to set the tone for your classroom and create an immersion experience starting the first week. This is the fourth of seven lessons that make up the first unit that I do with my French I classes that takes about 2.5 to 3 weeks on block scheduling.
As with all of my products, this lesson is classroom tested!:)
