Facilitate conversation practice with this fun exercise. The document includes 2 different profiles of characters that students assume (1 of each per couple). Students respond to partner's questions according to the pictures at bottom of page. Instructor needs to choose some pictures to x out before making copies (in order to make the 2 characters different).
Do not let students peek at partner's paper!
Typically I have students write down their PARTNER'S responses. This makes it go very slowly, but is good for practicing listening skills and spontaneity of speech. I then have them repeat the conversation so that it will occur at a more natural pace.
You could instead have them write down the answers that correspond to their own pictures.
This activity is a bit difficult to explain in writing, but it is very good (engages students). Please contact me with any questions!
