This French language game is designed to be played by your whole class together! Students will have fun interviewing each other to solve a mystery (Who ate the last cookie in the house?) while reinforcing essential vocabulary (Parts of the Home, Family Members, and People in the Community). The game can easily be modified to meet your students’ level depending on how you require them to respond to the game questions. Beginners can respond with simple “oui” or “non” answers, while advanced students can be required to use full sentences with l’imparfait, le passé composé, and le subjunctive. Easy-to-follow instructions are included. This activity is a great way to get students using the target vocabulary and structures in a natural way—all while having fun helping their teammates to solve the mystery!
This game can be played over and over, with a different result each time! It normally takes about 50 minutes to finish a game, but suggestions are included for how to speed up or slow down the game while it is in progress. It works best with a class size of 15 to 27 students, but can easily be modified for more or fewer students. An added bonus is that the game materials can also be used as flash cards/study aids for the students to use before and/or after playing the game!
Your Game Includes:
● 28 Suspect Cards (Family Members and People in the Community)
● 28 Location Cards (Rooms and Parts of the Home)
● 28 Object Cards (Items Found in or Near the Home)
● Pictorial Checklist Sheets for 4 Groups (All 84 vocabulary words depicted on a single page for easy reference)
● « Top Secret Résultats de Laboratoire » Foldable Envelope
Note: The vocabulary used in this game is for the French that is spoken in France. If you would like any changes to reflect slight differences in Canadian French, please email me at TeachersPalette123@gmail.com and I would be happy to make a Canadian French version for you.
