This worksheet can be used as a quick warm-up during the first few weeks of French 1 when teaching 4 basic nationalities (français, canadien, anglais, américain) or it can be used as a quiz. Students are asked to read the conversation and fill in the blanks with nationalities based on flags as clues. It becomes tricky, however, when they need to determine who the speaker is talking about and make the appropriate agreement. This is a good reminder that gender of adjectives is based on the subject rather than the speaker. At the bottom it asks students to add some sentences that tell where each person is from.
This could be used as a warm-up, worksheet, homework or quiz. The directions are in English. An answer key is included. The classroom using this worksheet was also using the textbook Discovering French Bleu 1.
