This is a fun project for younger students learning French as a second language. Once they have had the chance to learn animal vocabulary with IL/ELLE EST vs. IL/ELLE A and adjectives, they can do this project. The idea is for them to create a "new" animal by combining two other animals. For example, if they were to take un serpent et une tortue, they could call their new animal "un tortent." From there they have to create a visual of their animal along with a written description in French. My grade 5 students LOVED this project!
I have included the project outline to be given to students, a rubric for them, and the blank page where they actually create the animal and draw the sentences.
