Product Description
This product from Chez Nathalie is ideal for Intermediate French Immersion students and high school students in the FSL classroom. It is the third writing activity of nine for the school year and is entirely in French, except for the Notes to the Teacher page, which is bilingual.

Students create a writing portfolio (explanation how to make this in the first and second writing activity already for sale Chez Nathalie). They then study different types of writing each month as well as a grammar concept which is applied in the writing for the month. For September, students study informative writing and conjugating verbs in the present tense. In October, students study the descriptive paragraph and noun-adjective agreement. In November, they study the acrostic poem and conjugating verbs in the imperfect tense. Students are expected to use the writing process for each activity: pre-writing sheet(s), a rough copy, and a good copy. When they are finished their rough copy, the teacher uses symbols ("v" for verb conjugation, "a" for noun-adjective agreement, and “o” for spelling) under errors and makes comments about the content. Students are expected to correct errors and make improvements in their good copy.

The writing portfolio is popular with both students and parents. Students learn from their mistakes and notice improvements in their writing over the course of the school year. Parents can clearly see the difference between rough copies and good copies and learn what their child needs to work on.
