I use this game with my students by dividing the class into partners and giving each pair a mini-whiteboard, a marker, and an eraser. When the students see the addition equation, they must write out the correct answer in WORDS with the correct spelling, accents, punctuation, etc. The first group or first two groups to raise their board with the correct answer get a point. Students love the competitive aspect of this game! It can be a long activity or a short one, with prizes or without. Typically, I will tell students they can use their notes for the beginning of the game, but after a couple equations, they must clear their desks and use their memory!
