Product Description
This product from Chez Nathalie is ideal for Intermediate French Immersion students and high school students in the FSL classroom. It is the second writing activity of nine for the school year and is entirely in French, except for the Notes to the Teacher page, which is bilingual.

Students create a writing portfolio (explanation how to make this in product). They then study different types of writing each month as well as a grammar concept which is applied in the writing for the month. For September, students study informative writing and conjugating verbs in the present tense. In October, students study the descriptive paragraph and focus on noun-adjective agreement. Students are expected to use the writing process for each activity: pre-writing sheet(s), a rough copy, and a good copy. When they are finished their rough copy, the teacher uses symbols ("v" stands for verb conjugation and "a" stands for noun-adjective agreement) and makes comments about the content. Students are expected to correct errors and make improvements on their good copy.

The writing portfolio is popular with both students and parents. Students learn from their mistakes and notice improvements in their writing over the course of the school year. Parents can clearly see the difference between rough copies and good copies and learn what their child needs to work on.
