Product Description
This “Paris matching game” is played in groups of about 5 students and can be played as a shorter game or a longer one depending upon how many “cards” you copy for each group of students. There are 45 pairs of “Paris” related picture cards to use. Vocabulary is written on each card to help with “cultural” vocabulary development.

Cultural pictures include a variety of tourist sites or monuments in and around Paris. General focus pictures are also included to cover some favourite food items. Asking students to read the name of the card out loud when it is their turn also promotes French oral work. These cards can also be the starting point to an on-line research project focussing on these sites. More advanced students can also be asked to add a detail about the culture card that is chosen with each game turn.

This game can be played with beginner or more advanced French language students.

All cards are put face down on the table and each student takes a turn to flip over 2 cards. If the 2 cards are identical they get to try again. If not, it is the next student’s turn. The goal is to get as many pairs as possible.

The picture cards are in French and the teacher directions are in English to allow for non French speaking teacher replacements.
