Several years ago, I began doing personal interviews with my students. Personal interviews (sometimes called "la personne spéciale"), were developed by Bryce Hedstrom, a master teacher from Colorado who has many years of experience teaching with storytelling and comprehensible input. Bryce offers many resources on his website, www.brycehedstrom.com, for teachers who are interested in using personal interviews in class.
When I began doing personal interviews, I adapted Bryce's free posters (which were designed for middle and high school students) to make them more colorful and accessible to younger students. Bryce has given me his permission to share these posters on TPT.
This bundle includes:
- Personal interview posters for elementary students.
- Direct, clickable links to resources on Bryce Hedstrom's website for teachers who are interested in learning more about this activity.
Personal interviews have deepened my rapport with my students and have allowed me to get to know each child much better than I ever have before. I highly recommend using personal interviews in class.
