Here are two French-Inspired Practice Maps for use in direction giving practice, descriptions using prepositions of place or anything with a French unit on Places in Town or directions. There is also a reading comprehension worksheet and key for practice reading and interpreting written directions using the map.
A few additional activity ideas with the filled-in map:
1. Come up with descriptions either written or out loud and have students guess which place you're describing.
2. Start in one location and have students trace your directions on the map to guess the destination. I have my students slip the map into a clear pocket protector and trace with wipe-off marker
3. Have students practice writing descriptions of locations using prepositions or writing point to point directions, then have them read them to a partner.
The file also includes a blank map with street names and metro stops that could be used for additional practice -- either fill in an practice specific vocabulary you want to target or use as a pair or info-gap activity for students to practice talking with a partner!
This product can be combined with Places in Town #2
