I use this activity with my level one French students to combine the verb "aller" (to go) and common places in town. Students get out of their seats, talk to each other, and practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening all at the same time!
Each student has one chart (one half sheet) and one card with a place on it. Walking around the classroom, students ask each other (in French) "where are you going?" then write down their partner's response in the appropriate category before trading cards. Print the cards on cardstock paper and keep a class set. Consider drawing pictures on the cards to help the students remember the vocabulary better.
*A few places are repeated because my class had more students than vocabulary words*
