This story is based on the book "Aaron" by Yves Theriault. Students are given a piece of information from the story as well as a sheet with questions about the story. They must ask each other questions and provide the information to others that they have been given. Once all the questions have answers the class comes together and tries to reconstruct the story based on the answers that they got. Students then read the story with blanks and fill in what they now know. You'll be amazed at how much they can do. The end of the activity involves reading the one-page story without using any resources such as dictionaries. This is a great model to use when beginning new reading units.
