Product Description
Add some authentic interpersonal communication to your French restaurant unit! These speaking task cards will get your students up, out of their seats, and pushing the limits of their proficiency.

This packet includes everything you need for successful interpersonal exchanges:
• 1 Practice scenario for 2-5 students
• An example pre-speaking graphic organizer (filled out in English)
• A pre-speaking graphic organizer
• 6 scenarios, each with 5 cards – black and white
• 6 scenarios, each with 5 cards – with backgrounds
• Directions

Please see the preview for images and more details!

Each of the six scenes will set the stage and provide context for your students’ conversations. Please note this speaking activity is designed to be more dynamic than simple exchanges with a waiter or waitress. Scenes include: choosing a restaurant, dietary preferences, deciding what food to order, ordering, and discussing some cultural differences surrounding meals.

The activity in this packet can be used in several ways.
-The groups can do the same scenario. You’ll have 6 scenarios you can do at various points in your unit.
-The groups can do different scenarios. You can rotate, so each group has a chance to try each of the scenarios.
-Groups can do their scenario in front of the class (like improv).
-Groups can do their scenario at the same time (no pressure!) while you walk around.
-Activity can be used as a grade or just for practice.

All you need to do is:
1. Create your student groups
2. Pass out the scenario cards
3. Give students time to brainstorm useful vocabulary on the included graphic organizer
4. Let your students dazzle you with their conversations

In order to successfully complete this activity, students should be at a NOVICE HIGH – INTERMEDIATE LOW level. I use this with my second-year students. This activity can be used with 2 – 30 students.
