This is a wonderful project I have used successfully for many years in my World History classes. I use this with my Age of Revolutions unit, specifically with my lessons on the French Revolution. The project involves the creation of a newspaper about the French Revolution. Students find pictures, write articles, and create other features that are in newspapers (like cartoons, advertisements, interviews, crossword puzzles). Students really love being creative with what they've learned about the unit and I am always amazed by their imaginative creations.
The directions explains how the students are to lay out their newspaper. I often suggest to students that they use a Word or Publisher document as there are so many helpful templates. However, some students may choose to lay out their newspaper on a small poster, etc.
I have also included a grading rubric and a peer evaluation sheet. This is really a great product that I know you and your students will enjoy.
