This is my play rubric I used for the past three years for my French Revolution Unit Project.
My students are divided into small groups (4-6 kids) for my class (by nature of the class) and they are responsible for creating a play based around a topic of the French Revolution.
I have 9 Topics that we discuss in class listed on there, you can obviously add more based on your own classroom instruction, as well as ranked difficulty based on previous classes input.
I currently have my students work on this for roughly 3-4 weeks, on the fourth week they turn in their FINAL script to me (they have copies for their own use) and then the next week they will perform their skit/play.
With the invention of new technology, notably the ScreenCastify app available online, students can also record their play on their chromebooks and then submit it to me online as well, but I give bonus points for performing it in front of the class. (Some students will have stage fright, anxiety, etc. so this will help ease/combat this problem...first year mistakes!)
Obviously you can have and make changes to this as you see fit to help aid in your own classroom setting, but now in my 4th Year teaching, my students absolutely love this Unit and love this project since it allows them to use their creativity. I hope this helps and if you have any questions, I am listing my email so you may feel free to ask anything! email@example.com
