Question for students to answer
Link to Petit Nicholas animated tv show

The lesson begins by introducing names for types of tv programs along with pictures of authentic French programming. I suggest asking your students to raise their hand if they like/dislike the category.

The next portion of the lesson asks for students to identify the correct French label. They are shown a picture of a popular American tv show and two category options in French.

The third portion gives students two television program categories and asks them to choose which one they prefer. You can ask the question to the whole class and ask for a show of hands and/or have students ask ans answer the questions with their partner.

The last activity is open ended. Students are asked about what type of tv show they like. They should first write a response, and then practice asking and answering the question with their partner(s). I like to have students switch having multiple partners to ask. After having the conversation twice, I tell my students to put their written answer away and respond without their notes in front of them.

I also included a link to the French animated show Petit Nicholas which you can play at the end of class and/or after a quiz.
