French Teaching Resources. Reflexives Explanation Sheet
Product Description
This sheet provides the follwing information. I ask the students to hi-light it and to come up with mnemonics and analogies for peer-teaching.

Reflexive verbs have an extra word: compare je joue and je me lève.
The extra word is called the reflexive pronoun.
Here are the reflexive pronouns:

Je me
Tu te
Il/ Elle/ On se
Nous nous
Vous vous
Ils/ Elles se

Reflexive verbs tend to be things that you do to yourself, e.g. je me lave = I wash myself.

You will know if you have looked up a reflexive verb in the dictionary because it will have se or s’ in front of it e.g. se coucher = to go to bed, s’habiller = to get dressed.

Je me lève = I get up

Je me lave = I wash
Je m’habille = I get dressed
