This download has two parts to it.
The first part is a video (about 10 minutes) I personally made that explains to students how to read a train map and a train table. The example is the SNCF lines going into Lille, France. It also goes through, step by step, the first question/scenario on the worksheet.
The second part is the worksheet. On the front side, it is wide open for students to take notes on the video. On the back, students must go through a few different scenarios and explain which trains, as well as the times of those trains, they would take if they lived in the city given and had to be to Lille by a certain time. Then, they will explain which train they'd take home. The video goes through the first one together. I made tinyurls for the train map and the train tables, so students can EASILY access them without fishing through websites.
*Note: train times will change every few months, so an answer key is pointless. The last blank in the activity is for students to do one of their own.
