Looking for a way to get your students speaking and writing in the futur? Here are several fun activities to use. This activity is ideal for reviewing the futur proche/near future and talking before break since it provides students a structured format to discuss what they are planning to do over their upcoming Spring Break
In addition to the 5x5 speaking board and TWO follow-up writing activities, this file also includes a vocabulary sheet to help review all the necessary vocabulary.
Directions: Students move around the room asking each other questions and trying to find as many positive responses as possible. If a student answers a question affirmatively, the question-asker will ask a follow up question and jot down both the information and the student's name in the square provided. For an added incentive, you can make it a competition and have students try to either fill as many squares as possible in a specific time limit or try to find answers in lines of 5 "Bingo" style!
There are also two follow up writing activities, 1) where students can share out what they learned about their classmates' summers and another paragraph-level journal writing assignment WITH formative rubric for a student to then use the vocabulary to write about their own Spring Break plans.
