French Verbs in the Present Tense - 3 Worksheets and a Battleship Game
(Revised June 24, 2013)
This is a collection of 3 worksheets to conjugate regular –er, -ir, and –re verbs in the present tense. The answer keys are included. There are 10 fill in the blank questions on each worksheet. At the top of the page is a chart listing the pronouns and the verb endings. Most of the sentences are declarative, but a few are interrogative.
Your students can practise conjugating verbs in a fun way by playing a Battleship type game for 2 players, “Les navires de guerre.” The game is made up of an instruction sheet, a conjugation sheet, and a game board. Instead of using coordinates, ships are sunk by reading a pronoun and conjugating a verb in the present tense, which intersect on a grid.
