This activity provides students an opportunity to explore a new city without needing a passport! Through the use of Google Maps, they will be able to surround themselves with all of the sites that the city has to offer! This is an activity that students can complete independently. It is suggested that this virtual field trip be completed by students who have access to either laptops or Chromebooks in a 1:1 computer to student ratio. This could be used as a cultural activity to deepen student knowledge of this particular location either by a substitute teacher or by the classroom teacher on a day that the teacher is looking to be free from a teacher-led class period. This can be completed by students of ALL language levels, since it is not a language based activity. It combines culture with the use of technology.
*STUDENTS REQUIRE LAPTOPS/CHROMEBOOKS WITH INTERNET ACCESS IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT!!!
